What is sweating (hyperhidrosis) botox?
Sweating is a natural mechanism that regulates the body's temperature. In some people, however, the sweat glands are more active than needed; excessive sweating that occurs even when it is not hot or when no intense activity is taking place can negatively affect clothing choices, social relationships and working life. Known in medical terms as hyperhidrosis, this condition is most commonly seen in the underarms, palms, soles of the feet and the facial area.
In sweating botox, botulinum toxin Type A is applied into the skin in small doses to the areas where sweating is intense. The release of acetylcholine, which stimulates the sweat glands, is temporarily reduced in the treated area, and sweat production may thereby decrease. The effect is seen only in the injected area; the natural sweating mechanism in other parts of the body continues to function.
